Trigger finger

Little scars on the tendons can cause the fingers to catch or snap open. It can be painful but is mostly irritating. The main area where it catches is in the palm. The treatment is either an injection of steroid but the definitive treatment is surgical in most cases.

Operation for Trigger finger

This is a simple operation performed in the day surgery setting, where an incision in the palm is made, the finger catch is released and the incision closed. It usually takes 1 week to recover from - see Trigger finger information sheet.
