Dr. Ravi Mahajani is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, The Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the Australian Hand Surgery Society AMA NT and previously the Australian and New Zealand Burns Association. He has been in private and public consultant plastic surgical practice since 2003 and has a commitment for consistent, successful outcomes in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

As a Member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Australian Hand Surgery Society, Dr. Mahajani keeps up to date with the latest surgical innovations at annual conferences as well as playing a role in educating and mentoring young doctors.

He regularly attends accredited meetings in Australia and consults in both Darwin and Adelaide.

Qualified and about Dr Mahajani

Dr Mahajani grew up in Darwin attending St Mary's primary school followed but Nightcliff and Casuaring High Schools. He was awarded a top 10 scholarship and studied medicine at the University of Adelaide. Dr. Mahajani received his M.B.B.S. from the University of Adelaide. Upon completion, he underwent an internship, basic surgical training followed by advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the auspices of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.In 2003, he was awarded the FRACS, fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was in private practice in Adelaide, and held consultant appointments at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Womens and Childrens hospital in Adelaide. For family reasons, he moved back to Darwin. In Darwin when he started, he was the only plastic and reconstructive surgeon and was the first Head of Department of Plastic Surgery at the Royal Darwin Hospital. He started the Darwin Day Surgery with two Nursing collegues. The Darwin Day Surgery was awarded the Telstra Business of the Year (microbusiness ) after 2 years of operation. Dr Mahajani is also a reserve officer with the Royal Australian Navy. His foundation is his family including Dr Ketaki Mahajani (wife) Sara and Sohan his children, his both parents and inlaws. His father, Dr Mahajani FRCS, FRACS, a general surgeon, sometimes assists Dr Mahajani.

Dr. Mahajani is the only Darwin Plastic surgeon who is a member of the Australian Hand Surgery Society, The Australian Society of Plastic Surgeon and the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Mahajani’s work at his private practice in Darwin, Northern Territory encompasses a balance of plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.
